The Ultimate Guide to Staying Motivated

Productivity, Wellness

Are you struggling to stay motivated lately? You’re not alone. We all have our down days (or weeks, or months) when it comes to motivation. But the good news is that there are ways to get out of that rut and back on track. In this blog post, we’ll share some of our favorite tips from experts on how to stay motivated. So let’s get started!

1. Find Your Why

If you’re struggling to stay motivated, it might be because you don’t have a good enough reason to be. What is your why? Why are you doing what you’re doing? If you can’t answer that question, it might be time to reassess your goals. Once you know your why, it will be easier to stay motivated because you’ll have a clear purpose.

2. Set Smaller Goals

It can be tough to stay motivated if your goal seems unattainable. That’s why it’s important to set smaller goals that you can achieve along the way. For example, rather than telling yourself that you want to lose 50 pounds, set a goal of losing 5 pounds first. Then once you reach that goal, you can set another one. Breaking down your larger goal into smaller chunks will make it seem more manageable—and more motivating.

One of the best ways to get out of a motivational slump is by setting yourself small, achievable goals. That’s according to Ann Demarais, author of First Impressions: What You Don’t Know About How Others See You. “When we shoot for the stars and miss, we end up feeling disappointed in ourselves,” Demarais tells HuffPost. “But when we set smaller goals and achieve them, we feel a sense of accomplishment that gives us a boost of confidence and motivation.”

So if you’re struggling to stay motivated at work, try setting yourself a daily or weekly goal that you know you can achieve, like finishing that report or proposal you’ve been procrastinating on. Once you accomplish that goal, reward yourself with a cup of coffee or half an hour of social media browsing (just don’t go down the rabbit hole!).

3.Getting rid of clutter

Another way to stay motivated is by getting rid of anything that’s dragging you down ― both literally and figuratively. “Getting rid of clutter ― whether it’s physical stuff or mental baggage ― will help lighten your load and make it easier for you to focus on what’s important,” says life coach Kali Rogers. So go through your closet and get rid of those clothes you never wear; unsubscribe from those pesky emails; delete those apps you never use; unfollow those social media accounts that make you feel bad about yourself. By decluttering your life, you’ll feel lighter and more motivated to tackle whatever comes your way.

4. Create a Support System

When trying to stay motivated, it helps to have someone (or multiple someones) in your corner rooting for you. Let your friends and family know about your goals so they can help keep you accountable. You can also join an online community or find a mentor who can give you guidance and support. Having people in your life who believe in you will make it easier for you to believe in yourself—and to stay motivated. And finally, one of the most important things you can do to stay motivated is to surround yourself with positive people ― people who believe in you and your ability to achieve great things. “When we’re around negative people, their energy can be contagious and drag us down,” says psychologist Ellen Hendriksen. “But when we’re around positive people ― even if they’re strangers ― their energy can lift us up.” So seek out positive people in your life ― whether it’s a colleague who always has kind words to say or a friend who always makes you laugh ― and let their positive energy motivate and inspire you.

Conclusion:

We hope these tips have helped give you some ideas on how to stay motivated when times are tough. Just remember: take things one day at a time; set small, achievable goals; declutter your life; and seek out positive people who will lift you up. And most importantly, don’t give up on yourself! You’ve got this!
